What is Procedure Text ? Apa itu Text Procedure ?

 

A text that explains how people make or do something step by step. Procedure text adalah suatu jenis teks yang menggambarkan bagaimana sesuatu dapat dibuat atau digunakan melalui serangkaian langkah – langkah.

Examples; recipe, manuals, directions to reach destination and instructions to do something.

                         

                                            PURPOSE

                   Social function/Purpose:

To tell /to explain the readers how to make/operate/do something through a sequence of actions or steps. Procedure text sendiri bertujuan untuk memberi petunjuk tentang langkah-langkah/metode/ cara-cara dalam membuat, mengoperasikan, atau melakukan sesuatu.

                                            GENERIC STUCTURE

Goals/ aim                       :  Tujuan kegiatan atau hal yang akan dilakukan atau

 dibuat nantinya.Biasanya terletak pada judul text

                     Materials/ Ingredients/Tool : Berisi bahan-bahan dan terkadang alat-alat yang

dibutuhkan untuk membuat suatu barang/ melakukan  suatu  hal.  Dalam procedure text, materials bersifat opsional atau tidak selalu ada.

Steps/Langkah-langah    : serangkaian langkah-langkah atau tips yang  harus

     dilakukan.

	LANGUAGE FEATURE

Language structure/Unsur Kebahasaan

Procedure text memiliki ciri-ciri khusus sebagai berikut:

·     Using Imperative sentence          : kalimat-kalimat perintah seperti cut the vegetables,

                                                        pour the water, dan lain-lain.

                 ·     Using Simple    present    tense   : menggunakan kata kerja bentuk pertama (present),

                                                         seperti serve, pour, place, peel dan lainnya.

                 ·     Using Action Verbs                    : kata kerja yang menunjukkan kegiatan     fisik,

   misalnya mix, put, turn, dan lain sebagainya

·     Connective of sequence                : kata penghubung yang menghubungkan langkah

                                                        yang satu dengan yang lainnya, seperti then, while,

                                                        next, after that dan lain sebagainya.

·     Using adverbial/ of sequence/using temporal conjunction

Angka-angka yang menunjukkan urutan kegiatan, misalnya first, second, third, finally dan lainnya

·     Using adverbial (adverb)                  : to express details of time,place, manner accurate

                                                              (e.g for five minute, 2 hours etc)

Perhatikan berikut adalah jenis-jenis procedure text yang perlu diketahui.We can find procedure text,such as ;

1. Manual

 Procedure text yang memaparkan bagaimana cara mengoperasikan / menggunakan sesuatu. We need to follow the procedure contained manual seperti: How to use a blender, how to use a washing machine, and how to operate a computer.

2.     Recipe

    Procedure text contained in recipe/yang memberikan instruksi dalam melakukan kegiatan tertentu seperti How to make orang e juice , how to make fried rice , how to make fried noodle.

                3.     Tutorial

                        Video making tutorial , make up tutorial , hijab tutorial

                 4.   Life hack

                          How to pack for traveling , how to recycle things , how to fold cloth quickly

5.     Game rules

    How to play hide and seek , how to play srabble , how to play snake and leathers

6.                                 6. Experiment

                            How to change flowers color , how to make salt , how to make eco-enzim

7.  Procedure text can also talk about steps dialing with human behaviour Procedure text yang berkaitan dengan kiat-kiat menjalani hidup yang berhubungan prilaku manusia , example :How to live happily , how to succed , how to manage time.

A. HOW TO MAKE INFUSED WATER

                        Ingredients;

    Fruits Citrus: grapefruits lemon lime orange Berries: strawberries blueberries Tropical: pear mango pineapple 

      Vegetable: Cucumber carrots and ginger Herbs: Mint rosemary lavender

      Water: sparkling plain water or filtered water

            Steps:

1. First put the vegetables and fruits in the glass. Smash the fruits or vegetable lightly before putting them into the glass. Don’t forget to peel the skin of citrus fruits to avoid a bitter taste!

2. Next mask the herb that you want to add gently.it will help release the oil and extracts of the herbs.

3. Then put the herbs into the glass.

4. Lastly add either sparkling water or filtered water. Let it sit for a few hours to make the     water more flavourful.

5. Enjoy your infused water!

           B.  HOW TO MAKE MILKSHAKE

    

                Ingredients:

                Chocolate ice cream                                                                                

                   • 10 coconut biscuits                                

                   • Milk

                Tools: a tablespoon and Glass

              Methods/steps:

             1. Put a few scoops of ice cream

            2. Blend with enought milk to make the mixture thick,but fairly liquid.

            3. Add the remaining ingredients and blend

            4.  Ready to be serve
